Cold Season Renovations -
Changes for the better
Change is an unavoidable constant in our lives. Sometimes it’s within our control, sometimes not.
We need to experience and invite positive and intentional changes, rather then avoiding and fighting them.
It can then allow us to undergo reorganization and revamping of thinking strategies, and we adjust.
The Laundry Room
We spend way more time in our laundry rooms then we think. This space will function so much better (and just maybe, you will be less reluctant to be in there) with some organization and style. That said, our laundry room will by our winter reno this year!
It’s possible to manipulate your dopamine levels by setting small goals and then accomplishing them..... This chemical is often known as the “feel-good” neurotransmitter because it does just that—it makes us feel good...
Maybe renovating your laundry room can bring more change then just paint and cabinets. Perhaps we can use this time and opportunity to help form those habits you've been trying to aspire too.
Figure out the design that works with logical workflow. Consider these questions: Folding station works best where? next to or on top of the dryer? Where will you keep the laundry baskets? Is there space for a hanging rod? Is there a spot for an ironing board or steamer? Does the room provide enough natural light, do you need to maybe add or update light fixture? How will cabinets factor in to the design? Wall cabinets? Floor cabinets? Open shelving? Will you need to move plumbing and electrical for the appliances or to add a sink? Backsplash? Flooring? Consider your finishes; water resistant, low maintenance for high traffic area with humidity.
